Dubbed or Subbed Anime?

Plot spoilers is one thing and this kind of spoilers is when you're trying to read a book and listen audiobook at same time spoilers.

Dubbed... I don't speak Japanese, and I can't stand the usually high pitched Japanese voices, so I really don't care if something is lost in translation.

Subbed is always annoying as I end up missing everything because I'm too busy reading the subtitles.

My point exactly. I feel like I'm able to better understand the show when hearing it in my primary language.

Years ago, after binge-watching a few Naruto seasons, in Japanese with subtitles,I tried to watch one episode with English dubs. OMG it was horrible. Absolutely cringeworthy, listening to some English-speaking voice actors try do the voices and fail miserably. All I could think was, "That's not how they sound!" I tend to watch almost everything foreign with subs.

And yet, with Ghibli films, I have always loved the English dubs, as they are very well-made -- probably due to the more talented pool of actors afforded by all that Disney money.

Gone are the days were dubbed anime is terrible. Sometimes depending on the anime (like DB Super), the dub can actually be better. I'll watch the dub if there is one, if not I'll just go straight sub.

Don't make me laugh. Disney's voice acting is only slightly less of an atrocity than their bigotry in disqualifying Kiara and Nala from being Disney Princesses, much less their affiliates with Square Enix and Studio Ghibli.

Kiara and Nausicaa are far more deserving of being official Disney Princesses than Hua Mulan or Alice Liddell.

Also, I won't forgive them for removing the more accurate literal subtitle track from the Miramax release of Mononoke-Hime when they did the Mononoke Blu-Ray release.

Hey I never said I was a fan of the Devil Mouse. I only offered an explanation as to why the Ghibli voices are better than Naruto's. I hate Disney with the fire of a million suns, and I hope that someday a sinkhole swallows Orlando whole.

Dubbed, as long as the voice acting is good. I've seen a couple with such bad voice acting that I watched it subbed instead.
