Monitor built in crosshair = cheat = banned? Safe to use monitor built-in crosshair?
Hello everyone

I have LG 34GL750-B Ultrawide 1080P/144hz monitor that has built in crosshair, and I just wonder will I get banned from using this feature built in on my monitor like the anti-cheat will going to detect my monitor built-in crosshair feature as a cheat?

Doubt it, you're not messing with game's files.

Safe to use, but I doubt you will feel satisfied by it. However, bet ya you're not the only one using it, so feel free to do so.

By the way if people believing you're a pro, and you gonna be asked to join an eSports-team.. There goes your reputation... :P

LOL, no.

The same thing can be accomplished with a sharpie marker crosshair on a bit of tape placed on the exact middle of the screen on any monitor.

... back in my day we used dry erase markers or stickers

I measured distance between my gun and the center of the screen a long with how far the target was.

I found that a very small triangle cut from the sticky strip of a sticky note works great. It stays where you put it unless disturbed, and it is easily moved around for fine tuning. It doesn't damage your screen, and comes in numerous colors which help with contrast. I place it so the top point of the triagle is point zero.
Isn't the point of not having crosshairs in a game is to make it more challenging? To me using these methods defeats the challenge the game is giving you by not giving you crosshairs like the killing floor games.

Depends on the game, if it has user delegated punishment verdicts, then they may see you as a cheater (then again if you are good enough or do weird lucky stuff, that might be the case anyway) It will never be an issue in terms of "software" bans, since you are not using software to cheat

A monitor with a built-in crosshair?
That's a thing?
Since when were crosshairs a 3rd party option?

I think the op is mistaking the crosshairs used to line up the picture as crosshairs for a game.

they aren't that useful.

Just more ways for monitor companies to jack the price up.

"hey gamuuur, our new tactical monitor has a built in crosshair, 1440p, 144hz, 30 inch, and only for 1500"

My monitor has built in crosshairs and stuff, Its simply an overlay on top of what your screen is displaying. theres no way a game can detect and see what overlays are on your monitor, if someone was to hijack your screen or watch you stream all they would see would be the game as the overlay is built into your monitor for only you to see.

so yeah its safe and undetectable, anti cheats only detect memory editing and stuff and not what is displayed on your screen.

No it wont get you banned, BUT it may get you banned from tournaments. The ones where you physically go to a place, like a convention center.
