We need good moderators that actually do their jobs.
Original title; We need more moderators.

Some may disagree, and there certainly are arguments to be made against it, but in all honesty a lot of the time threads that should clearly be shutdown remain up for multiple hours before anything happens to them.
If there is going to be rules, I am of the opinion that they should be followed, so I believe at least something should be done to deal with it.

Seriously, I want to have this conversation but I'm just 280 odd comments behind.
Well I know a lot of it has to do with someone not getting banned for saying Nazi related stuff.

Actually now that I think about it, they were called a holocaust denier.

People were wondering why they didn't get banned, this was one of the main points of thread as well.
And moderators already hinted at that a warning was given, and explained that the rules are enforced a certain way (warnings first!) and that they certainly don't bow down to pressure from others to 'ban them'. Rules only make sense if they are enforced equally.

It was just me getting a bit pissed that a holocaust denier turning his own thread into a debate about the holocaust getting away unpunished multiple times the same day, and is still not banned. I admit that I was a bit too harsh, it’s not the moderator faults, I was mostly blowing off steam being frustrated by the inconsistent nature of rule enforcement.
Quite the opposite in fact, read my reply above.

TL;DR: People don't know about report buttons, people don't know about paid moderators, people don't know about the rules and how moderators enforce them, and people think it's them against the world (because if one of them had a ban for saying 'idiot' then the rest of the world should too, never mind it being their 10th offense).

All this misinformation is being combatted by providing the proper info, but it's not accepted or simply skimmed over (because complaining beats actually having a discussion).
Yeah. And we had a reposter who wanted to uncensor swearing. He then got triggered and the thread got taken down. He then argued with the moderation and got taken down. He then privates his profile, and announced he didn't care about Steams community anymore, and he got taken down again.

The few that do use reports, confuse the profile report buttons with post report buttons, and the various 'feedback reports' messages for what they're intended to do.

All this misinformation is being combatted by providing the proper info, but it's not accepted or simply skimmed over (because complaining beats actually having a discussion).
Almost everyone has said that they reported him, yet after Tito locked his thread three times, he still remains unbanned despite breaking a multitude of rules.

I am not entirely sure what your point is.

Mods do this on free unpaid time and they do a more than fair and balanced job. I know, because well some of my post just lol. As adults we need to self moderate which I am still working on.

No, being warned is not the same as being punished.

We had a debate about all that, which reignited the moderator argument thing in the first place.

And if you actually read my message, or read up on how the rules where enforced, you would know that we will always warn before banning. We prefer teaching over banning, as that has proven to be a better way of building a community and having people learn from their mistakes.

The only thing that's wrong here is your expectations of how rules should be enforced, versus the reality.

I think everyone’s point is that the fact he isn’t banned when people get banned for much, much less that that is completely ridiculous, unprofessional and hypocritical.

I think the problem is most of the people who hang around OT are younger than 20.

I’ve been insulted by kids who are anti-establishment and anti-rules who think that following the rules is “censorship”.

I don’t care about rules, but if there are rules, they should be followed and enforced. I can’t stand inconsistencies and hypocrisy.

And they don't even know it. I don't think they even read the rules.
