Edit: If you want a good multiplayer game that doesn't require a mega PC to run, try Team Fortress 2. It's free
you need to buy the game itself with its expansions, you can buy them all in a single pack, its not too expensive.
then it costs £8.50 a month but I usually pay every 6 months which costs about £46 (it saves a bit of money)
if you run out of game time you simply can't play anymore until you buy more. If you are struggling with money you can always farm gold in the game and use that gold to buy a wow token for 30 days game time.
You only pay a subscription now and you get all the expantions up to Legion. You need to buy the latest one, but they seem to start including them one year after they are released.
As to it being worth it? That is subjective. I put many hours into WoW long ago, then stopped due to all the changes they keep making, revamping stats and skill with every expantion released, so I stopped. Tried again last year for a month and got the new way of leveling was dumb, imho, so I won't be going back.
Every zone scales to you (to a point), so it doesn't matter where you go to level up anymore.
if you ask me its worth it if the alternative is buying new games in october to december , 3-4 months of wow is 50€ , a single new game without season pass is more already
Like I said, it is subjective.
I tend to wait for a game + all DLC to be under $20 (sale or regular) before I buy it, so that comparison doesn't work for me as I would get three games + season passes for about the same price AND it wouldn't be repetitive or require internet/online to play.
