It's a small moment of knowing but not knowing at the same time, and then he appears, attacking deflecting and using the force like a living monster slaughtering them all, and then the door gets jammed, and you see a rebel banging on the window and shotuing out of pure fear and dread. It was such a perfect moment of showing how terrifying Darth Vader could be.
