Ahh so that's how it works? I thought the suggestions and ideas were not Steam related lol
Try doing a factory reset and see if the issue persists. Also check if the console doesn't have any custom firmware to begin with (System Settings > System Information).
Usually CFW's are used to load disc backups in case the optical reader is fried which could explain why there's mentions of custom firmwares.
suggestions and ideas are for suggestions and ideas for improving steam , like a "dont show games i already own" thingy
why dont you ask on playstation forums
I will, thought since I already have a steam account might as well ask here.
Seems weird for a laser malfunction don't you think? All my other games work flawlessly...
I will try to backup my stuff and then restore the PS3 and we'll see what happens.
you wont really get much (edit) useful help , not that many here own a ps3 that has the exact same issue like yours , my xbox 360 for some reason stopped playing music on sky sanctuary act2 in sonic generations , never figured out why , issues like that simply are specific to the consoles, on pc most issues can be fixed by following a list of things like
- all drivers up to date
- windows updated to the newest version ( one game once had some ntdll.dll issue , updating windows fixed it)
- run in compatibility mode
- revert most recent update if it worked a week ago
-redownloading game
and so on , something almost always fixes it
for console most of these fixes cant be suggested , since you cant really update anything manually , theres no rolling back an update that broke something either
for consoles many problems are unique to a few users
Just because a disc doesn't have scratches doesn't mean it's not damaged.
^
i once had a final fantasy 13 disk ( or rather 2 disks out of the 3 ) that simply softlocked during certain loading screens , bought it from a gamestop and sold it to a gamestop again later on , the disks had no trace of any scratches
Asking here and there *may* get you a solution though. I'll soon be asking PS forums... I think Jej is right though, the disc may be damaged somehow.
Yep, I'm pretty sure now it's the disc..
asking for a fix of a console issue on a pc forum isnt really going to give many solutions , thats like posting a question about toothache on a dermatologists forum
I just got my answer... The disc is damaged. Lol anything that may give you a higher chance of solutions is better off right? But I see your point :)
