Why are chicken nuggets shaped like that?
And they do not taste like chicken either. Why.

Ground chicken essentially pasted and poured into a mould.

Although, they do taste like chicken in Canada. They're white, not that bizarre cardboard brown/beige in the US.

Yeah same in Switzerland, they taste like chicken...
Also OP. Shaped like what? They've got many weird shapes :goggles:
Shapped like what? Mine are shapped into dinosaurs.

I think the original design was to make it easy for small children to pick up and eat. They do taste like chicken but you have to actually watch them pluck the chicken and then cook it first.

Depends where you are in the world and what you're buying/getting. E.g. cheap American fast-food nuggets are made from meat scraped off bones and formed into oddly footlike shapes, whereas bespoke handcrafted British nugs are made from breast meat and blessed individually by HRH Queen Elizabeth II of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in addition to being awarded a knighthood. That's Lizzie's side-gig anyways.

Is a lowly American commoner allowed to eat them, then?

Aren't those the types of questions one shouldn't ask about processed meats?

Like everything else, it depends on where they come from. Get them from McDonalds and they look gross, get them from Ckik-Fil-A and that's not the case.

Or avoid fast food entirely and you'll never see another chicken nugget as long as you live. I don't see the point anyway. Chicken is as bland and boring as it gets. But of course it would be since it's the least unhealthy traditional meat. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't taste like anything except what you put on it.

Anyway, OP, they look like that because it's just random pieces of ground chicken shaped into something that looks marginally appetizing. It tastes like crap because it's essentially "floor sweeping", meaning it's the stuff left over from processing that isn't really good for anything but the lowest common denominator of poultry products, i.e., chicken nuggets.

Fish sticks are the same way but there was a time when fish sticks were really good. Now, it's just grey, greasy slime.

Heading over to Chick-fil-a while is is still Saturday :)

I normally get the tenders - you can actually tell it is from the chicken breast. But, I really go for the waffle fries.....

Don't we all?

I personally like to dunk my waffle fries in my smoothie, I get some weird looks. :hmm:
Sadly I'm going to have to wait to get me some of that goodness another time.
