Most games do. Gaming mice are a thing, after all. You can map keybinds to all the side buttons if you wish.

I regularly use MOUSE4 as alt-fire in games that feature healing as alt-fire.

They are essential for me and the games that I play. I always have had trouble to remove my fingers from wasd or esdf and to press other keys, I have small hands and a type of arthritis/get cramps in them with certain movement, so it is great to have two bindable buttons on the mouse for important actions in game.

Very good for mmos and some fps games also.

Definitely worth it, even for fps games, just one click with my thumb after getting used to the positioning of the buttons and I can switch weapon while moving instead of letting go of a WASD key to press 1/2/3/4.
Absolutely. Having 2-6 mouse buttons to hotkey is a life saver in a mmorpg, and even if you don't fancy those kind of games, it's still convient to have.

They aren't necessary and I don't recommend them.

Anything more than 2 side buttons is not worth it to me, but 2 are necessary.

I got used to 12-sidebutton mice when the original Razer Epic Naga came out and I played MMOs. Been sticking to them ever since. Both the Razer and the Logitech models are good; they are pretty much identical in their latest revisions. Most games support them. If they don't, you can usually still bind stuff to the numblock keys which correspond with the sidebuttons. I also use the buttons outside of gaming too.

Save up.

I mean I usually just get stuff like mice or keyboards as Christmas or Birthday gifts.

Unless you only play fps games, I'd say they are, especially in rpgs and mmos. Some will even come with an extra button for a dedicated mic button, which is much easier to use and bind than a keyboard key.

I recommend the Logitech G6600. It's fantastic.

If you had instead just been patient and saved that you would've been 1/6th of the way to getting a G502.

I have two side buttons. One I use for iron sights in games, the other is push to talk for the mic.

You can map any action to these buttons, jsut as you can a keyboard button.

Most game support them and will recognize them.

They definitely don't bother me, but I use my mouse's side buttons more while browsing websites.
For gaming, I find the button in the middle that changes the speed of the cursor more practical.
This^
Most of these gamers think only about games, bruh that back/forward button while surfing on the internet is so useful.. i can't imagine clicking always that "back/forward" icon on browser lmao. Its one of the reasons i have such mouse. Also i reload with mouse4 and speak with mouse5 so its useful in-game aswell.
