Bahahahaha. “Relatively new rig” has a GTX 960 from circa Jan 2015.

Plus, to top it off, it’s a Dellienware.

You don't need Geforce Experience to update your drivers.

Forget about your rig, its usually always software related provided you already proved your internet speed isnt crap. Start out with the basics like is your firewall and or security software blocking it.

Try downloading the drivers manually and installing them. If they install then look at the nvidia interface as the problem assuming you ruled out the above.

Oh, for the love of god please post this in the hardware and operating systems section and NO, i dont care if you arent getting replies there yet.

new nvidia installers will auto pause unless you click "NEXT" to continue installation.

i hope this is not a PEBKAC

One only hopes OP is intelligent enough to have already checked or been aware of that point before coming here wasting our time.

He had an actual problem, same thing happened to me, I couldn't download the driver because it was stuck on preparing to install. No buttons came up. Try being more open before you call him stupid

A GTX 960 is not a new card, it's like 3+ years old... But anyways, I had the same problem, all I did was to download the newest driver from nvidia.com and installed it manually.

@Black Arsnic try just manually installing it from the nvidia site.

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

And as usual a number of pillocks of the community arrive who are not here to offer help, but to just bash the system/components you are using and insult the author of the post.
You people bring the morale of the community down, if you have nothing useful or polite to say don't say it.

Run GeForce Experience as administrator
Uninstall Geforce Experience because it has been shown to actually slow games down and enable improper options along with corrupted driver updates.

Just update drivers the normal way from the nvidia website.

Some guy asks for help and your first response to this thread isn't even to help the guy. Just to flame him. ♥♥♥♥ off and get a life you no good piece of ♥♥♥♥. People like you are the worst. If you don't have any help to give this guy then don't post in this thread. GTFO loser. People like you weren't even dropped on their heads as a child. They were straight up thrown.

There are always one or two elitists on forums like this. Just ignore them.
Yeah, I know. I just had to rant on him for a sec.

Just had this issue and this thread came up. I know the OP fixed this by now but for future users there's a simple solution. You probably have a corrupt Experience file somewhere. In windows search type "add remove" to find the add or remove programs feature. In it find nvidia geforce experience and uninstall it. Restart computer. Go to https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/ and download the latest geforce experience. Install it and that should work. Run it and update your drivers.

OP should update this. GTX 960 is definitely not a new card as it's around 7 years old.
