That's jag-war not jag-wire.

He's clearly saying it as jag-wire and so do most Americans. Jag-war would even be worst (if said like war is spoken), I think you meant Jag-wahr. Is it said differently between the sports car vs animal?

In British English it's pronounced as it's spelt, jag-u-ar. It's a 'u', not a 'w'. Just say it like Jag-you-are. For some odd reason, America hates the letter 'u'. Even to the point of removing it completely from words, such as 'colour', etc. Can't they pronounce it or something? Then they add to the word things which aren't even spelt in it, to make it extra confusing to the rest of the world. I guess it's natural to them and flows off the tongue, but just seems odd and illogical (quite like our extreme slang, we use here in New Zealand). English has to be one of the world's hardest languages to learn and understand, lol.

If you think that sounds like wire then you must have a mush mouth. Wire rhymes with tire. He's not quite saying jag-war but he's definitely not saying jag-wire.

Jag-wahr is closer to the origin of the word that the English term originally derives from. Color did not originally have a U in it - that's mostly the fault of the French.

This is why I failed English at school. I was told to just sound things out in order to spell them as a little kid. Lies I tell you! All lies! My logical brain can't take it.
