Adblock or Ublock origin?

someone told me to switch cause adblock has malware? but hasent fully explained why and hes supposed to be the tech expert -__-

i havint had problems with adblock
only with websites being demanding in asking me to turn ablocker off

ublock is just the best adblocker out there regardless, but it looks like adblock (if it's not one of the hundreds of knockoffs with the same name) takes part in that "acceptable ads" thing and lets ads from companies it likes through by default, which is pretty disgusting imo

I've used AdblockPlus forever, never had a problem, never see any ads. No clue what any complaints are.

ublock is a bit lighter on cpu/resource use, unless you load it up with a lot of extra filters and options (I hear). It also has some more power-user type of options I think, and maybe a more friendly interface, which makes it appealing to some.

If you're not a huge "everywhere" 'net surfer or tweak-master (mostly regular sites you go to all the time) I don't think it matters all that much. Whichever you prefer.

ublock also still has a firefox-legacy release, which is useful for people who use pale moon and similar forked browsers

There's a simple checkbox to disable it. No big deal. I don't remember if it's checked by default tho, too long ago, too many versions.

Edit: I also use NoScript along with it. Between the two I'm happy enough. But I'm a pretty casual/light 'net surfer.

i dont need to turn it off just to watch things on some websites like kiss Asian and kiss anime

does it really matter? from what ive seen they do what they do best, block ads and thats all, both work completely fine so why have a debate about why one is better?

I switched to UBlock when I found that ABP sold out and defeating the sole purpose of the add-on.
