I mostly only watched the older OVA from the 90's built around stardust crusaders ... the characters design is quite interesting and the story do feel engaging.

IIRC the first died, adopted a baby and gave his powers to the adopted kid who grew up to

I was joking, JoJo meaning every JoJo with no way to diffrentiate who I meant. But I really liked Jolyne, part 6, Jotaro and her really made it my favorite.

There's more than 6 parts, just part 6 being my favorite. Part 5 was more fun that 6, but the relationship between Jotaro and Jolyne made it all the better.
