Do people use home stereos anymore?
A stereo used to be something you'd find in almost every home in some form or another. Nowadays, I almost never see them. Everyone uses their phones, PCs or HTPCs, Roku streaming or whatever.

There used to be stores that sold just home and car stereos. I don't see those anymore, either.

I haven't owned a stereo since the late 90's. I have a pretty good audio setup on my PC and see no need for a separate device. Besides, I long ago ripped all my discs to digital and no longer have the discs, my music is all on thumb drives now.

Basically every electronic device I have that can make sounds already has a stereo or speaker built-in. I just don't need one.
You kidding?

Of course they do.

A stereo is literally 2 or more speakers playing stereophonic sound.

Home theater/stereo setups are more popular than ever, its one of the many reasons people don't go to actual movie theaters any more. Why when someone can have a 7.1 THX system and HD projector in one room and a 5.1 sound system with a 72 inch 4k TV in another.

And plenty of places still do custom and aftermarket automotive audio as well.

I'm pretty sure a simple internet search in your area would show you all kinds of options, unless you are out in the middle of nowhere.

Unless you are talking about listening to FM radio on an old school boombox?

People still do.

If I had the resources I'd actually try and get an 80's/early 90's Hi-Fi set. I'm a sucker for brushed aluminum audio devices with VU meters.
