Everytime I try to Clone my HDD it fails
I bought a new 2 TB SSHD and am trying to clone my old 1 TB HDD to it but evertime I try it ends at 52% or 74% percent and tells me Read Failed 13/Permission Denied 32. I've tried everything to fix it, I've checked the disk. And honestly I just want to get this done, I've wasted a whole day so far. ANyone got any ideas?

Turn it off and back on again. That usually does the trick. It will probably impress your friends too.

Spinrite (if you already have it, its a pay product though)
Its recovered some very bad corrupted drives.
If its a hardware problem though (like if the read arms are unmoveable) then you'll have to get professional disc recovery service for hundreds of dollars per hour.(guessing at the price)

I'm pretty sure the HDD isn't that bad, just old, I can hear it reading and moving data as I check it.
The permission denied probalby means you're trying to copy the C:\System Volume Information folder which you should not do and actually can't.

Why's that? this isn't my primary drive, it's just for games and some other softwares.

What program are you using to do this?

What brand is the SSHD?

What cloning tool are you using? Are you running it via boot?

It should avoid attempting to clone the page file, etc - as that's not needed and would be locked by Windows (if you are attempting to clone while still in OS). It's more ideal to clone via boot (aka create a boot USB or disk with the clone tool), as Windows, security and/or anti-virus scanners, can lock the files.

Also, run a Chkdsk via the command prompt on the drive to check for errors. Or My Computer > Right-click the drive letter > Properties > Tools > Error Checking

I already ran chksdk, and am right now in the command prompt

Segate has free tools avaialble on their site.

Try:
Samsung Drive Manager
or
DiscWizard

https://www.seagate.com/support/by-topic/downloads/

And see if either of those work.

There is also a program called CloneZilla[clonezilla.org] that you can run before the system starts in order to clone the drive.

I like CloneZilla as it runs when you boot, so you don't have the OS trying to fight you when cloning a drive.

There are also hardware devices where you simply plug in two drives and hit the copy button.
Probably too expensive for the one time you need to use it.
Also there are bootable utilities where you can make disk image files of partitions or the entire drive at once. (assuming you have a large enough place to store them (network drive?))

I'm dumb when it comes to bios and boot menu fidling, so CloneZilla you access in the boot menu? Thanks, I'm gonna try the first two. And uninstal Microsoft game because usually don't allow you to acess their folder

I'm getting bad clusters in Steam games like Fallout 4 and GTA 5, and R6 all the time, so I want to clone or image this as soon as possible.

Just a slight feeling that that is why it fails. But I already spent yesterday verifying and resodwnloading ♥♥♥♥.
