Breaking Point
Are you yourself? Are we sure of who we are? Of your personality, your thoughts, your words, and so on...

Have you ever had a breaking point in which you just weren't yourself? Whether by emotional supression, ecomical failure, death of family/loved one, etc.

How did this feel to you? Isn't it strange how sometimes we can simply entirely break down into being someone else we're not? Or to simply turn into something we weren't?

Your ideas changed, your thoughts changed, your mindset changed, and maybe you even started conflicting with yourself, like, just being uncompatible with your own being. Your principles or values even shift. Sometimes going back to who you were, sometimes just remaining that "new self"?

I just randomly got a flash memory from the past, when it once happened to me - and it indeed did hurt me, I couldn't believe who I was, the things I said, how I acted and what I'd do; In summary, I don't want to ever go through something like it ever again, and ever since it's left me wondering how was that even possible, it was just... impossible to understand.

What are your thoughts or experiences with this?

Yeah, I didn't expect much different to be fairly honest. Just sort of wanted to vent it somewhere. I don't really expect useful replies, but if there's even just as much as just one I'd still appreciate just that one.

During university i got hazed so bad that i forced to change personality.
From i "I would like to be friend with everyone, i would try my best not to disappoint you"
To "Human? If i could eliminate every you I don't mind. If i had a bomb and gun i would terror the whole campus , torture you one by one for all trust ive given to you."

The Event It gave me PTSD.
It felt like revenge alone isn't enough.
When you could destroy all their family lines together.

I was not able to be myself for years and I was not really a happy person, but once I was able to be who I wanted to be I have been happier ever since .
Wouldn't call it "Breaking Point", more like "Self-development", atleast you know more now.

I've been told by a "professional" that I have a generalized anxiety disorder. That being said I myself have had several mental/emotional break downs in which I have became super distant, extremely mean, borderline crazy.

I've never hurt myself or other but I've thrown things and smashed stuff. I hit my cat once in anger...I regret it every day no poor animal should suffer for my rage.

The human mind is a crazy little goo ball and given enough stress and time you'll be surprised what it can do and think, even to the point of you being not yourself, as you say.

**If you're having these periods frequently please seek medical professional help as it could be an indication of the onset of a condition/disease/ailment you are not aware of yet. Do it for yourself and others.**

Wasn't about depression, but having a certain sudden switch in life that sort of makes your personality shift over. But, I guess that's a way to take it.

inb4 I make myself seem like an edgelord tbh :daze::firealone:

Self-development works, I already knew, but I figured this title would be more attractive for people who aren't knowledgeable or interested in the topic.

Can't lie, hate the people that come acting smart around here. Plus this is not about developing anything, nor getting better or worse - just a solid fact from the past. But your input is appreciated regardless.

Naw sounds like someone having some emotions and not knowing how to deal with them. This is the off topic area, you're welcome to leave if you have nothing of value to say.
