Does my teacher suck at teaching?
Everyone I know in Geometry has like a D or below

and didn't grade some assignments that were due like months ago.

Trying to learn in her class sucks too, she talks about Rigid Transformations, which is two minutes into the lesson about transformations, and then a second later we're on the next lesson.

Yes, that particular teacher really sucks at teaching.
Radene Sep 28, 2017 @ 2:12pm
Yep, that's not good teaching.
Tux Sep 28, 2017 @ 2:12pm
I know this might sound crazy for many but its true

A teachers job is only to teach you how to learn for yourself.

And so many fail at even that.

That particular teacher doesn't do that though.

many dont even know that. but really more often then not when a student complains about not understanding because of the teacher it almost always means they (the student) are just placing blame on someone else because they dont want to put in the time and focus

the only bad teacher I had was one that would say topic X was on the exam but Y ended up actually being on the exam.

open the book, read the chapter, do the problems.

you are ALWAYS supposed to do that regardless...did you?

Or, the teacher could just really suck at explaining things to their students. There are people who cannot articulate themselves well enough to communicate their thoughts, it is no surprise that there would be teachers who are like that as well.

No. That's not how it works.

Students who bring it up actually want to learn.

The lazy ones don't care, they just skip class.

Adjust a techer's pay through how high student's grades gets, and watch how
effective teachers will become.
That teacher should be fired, btw. You should talk with the principal...

A teacher's job is to provide you with strategies and means to learn something. A specific teacher's job is to help you understand the stuff you need to learn.

However, I'm now in a class where I'm pretty much left alone, without peers or teachers, to go through an entire math book. We'll see how it will go without somebody I can ask for help at any time.

nope.

when a teacher say 'here are the chapters we will cover this semester' you are supposed to read those chapters, do the problems, ask pointed and informed questions.

very literally the teach has literally zero to add to it that is not in the book.

That is how I did it and it works.
everything you need to know is in the book. learn to read and learn to ask specific informed questions

Then the teachers will just collude together and give all their students straight A's. Unless the grading was done by a different system.
