Best Windows IDE for C++ development?
1. Eclipse - I have it but mingw downloader does NOT work for whatever reason. Cygwin install doesn't work for me either : )
2. Komodo IDE - Says I have to run code in a special way but won't give me the option to include mingw or cygwin

If you are just running console programs or learning/just starting out, I would go with a free software called Code Block. I used it for ages :)

Visual Studio. Works surprisingly well.

They even have a Linux version.

I think this is the 100% free one.

Thanks! A lot of people reject VS as only a .NET IDE. I forgot how many languages it supports. Works just fine but takes up quite a bit of space. Ironically, I enrolled in Microsoft's edx class for C++. They'll undoubtedly be using VS over other IDEs/compilers.

Also requires a general C++ compiler like mingw but I think I found a different version of mingw that'll work for me.
