I would offer tech support, but the correct answer is pitch it in a bin and get a proper pc, over the tech skill needed to replace a MD and rewire a laptop.
Laptops are not intended to have parts swapped, as a PC is.
Basicly all you can do with laptop is add more RAM if there is free slot and SSD.
Laptop guts can get reworked, but it takes a HELL of a lot of cash and tech skill.
Max out the ram, if you and swap the dvd for a vid card, do so, and then let her wallo in the old school. Laptops need to be bought as top of the line, and used for the 6 years they get as such. Upgrades ome from big boxes and nerd behavior.
