The likelihood of Gothicmade on Home Video

After seeing some merch based on the 2012 anime film Gothicmade: Hana no Utame being shown off at Dengeki Hobby's website (even though I could not read it due to it being in japanese), I decided to look back at the Lost Media Wiki page for Gothicmade. I then noticed a line that said, to quote the Lost Media Wiki page, "Nagano believed the film could only be experienced in a theater setting due to its 4k animation and usage of Dolby Atmos surround sound, and as such has refused any sort of downgraded home video release".

Now considering how 4K Ultra HD 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is at least somewhat retally available at retail, that combined with the Gothicmade merch, does that mean Gothicmade might get a home video release.

Not likely. That is most likely an excuse and not the real reason.

Look at the movie E.T. and how long that took to come out on video. When it did, the sales were massive at the time.

By making it theater only, they garner more intrest in it and in the merchandise. It is just marketing.
