I guess that is a matter of opinion but I prefer Earthbound...
It's a great game, but I wouldn't call is one of the "best games ever". I wouldn't even call it the best Zelda game.
Well, I guess it was marvelous back in the 90s, but guess it aged really poorly, which is still weird because I enjoyed most of the "poorly aged" games like Sonic Adventure, Mortal Kombat 4 or Crash Bandicoot 1 and others.
That and the things that it (allegedly ) invented like Z-targeting system is being phased out by arkham fighting systems.
So I'd say yes, it is overrated.
I have an old gamecube though, so I might get the original some day soon. I've been meaning to expand my GC's library.
Nowadays it rides on nostalgia.
Sometimes i think it's pretty good. Other times, it's so boring and as interesting, as shooting for fruit and lizard tails in Shadow of the Colossus.
I really hope Nintendo keep the good points of Breath. But just fill it with actual content next time.
