SteamRep Help
I added someone to trade, and I checked their account on SteamRep. The site says that the user has no friends, but he has 117 friends on his Steam profile page. What does this mean?

The 'Online' Status' is incorrect too as it says that he is offline, but I am currently messaging him. Could this be a false Steam account?

Finally, his Reputation Status says "No Special Reputation". Is this good? What does it mean?

I should also add that this person is level 30, has 15 badges, owns 2 games (including free games), and only has 80 hours clocked into the game that we are trading items in (CS:GO).

Thanks to anyone who is willing to help.

SteamRep is not associated with the Steam Application or its Discussions.

Please use their forums, support, contact us, for information about THEIR site.
You are wise to ask these questions, but I can't help much as I don't trade much. Maybe some other forum readers can offer better advice.

But, if you're trading through the Steam client, rep is not needed. If someone is trying to get you to trade outside of Steam, and are trying to tell you how trustworthy they are because they have "rep', be very suspicious. Rep is meaningless, easily faked and mainly wanted by people who want to scam others.

Always be suspicious of people claiming to be official steam admin, or approved middlemen (other warning signs of scammers) ...and don't trade your steam items outside of steam, if they're valuable to you.
No Special Reputation = the default reputation that everyone has. It means that there aren't any reports against him, and he hasn't been banned for scamming. Of course still deal with caution though.

Level 30: Level pretty much means ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. These days, levelling is so cheap everyone can afford a "high" level so it doesn't really mean much. Don't go into the deal thinking he's insanely reputable just because of his level - same goes even for level 100+ people.

Better to ask this question on the SteamRep forums rather than here though.

The best way to check to see if it's a fake Steam account would be to check the steamID64 is the same on their Steam profile & SteamRep page.

Also, Enhanced Steam[www.enhancedsteam.com] is your friend.
You really should be doing what post #2 suggested, however, let me tell you this. I looked at my own profile in SteamRep and immediately saw several wrong information. The friends list is way off. I suspect that counter is erroring out because my profile on Steam is private. Other than the little information the site has pulled from the XML that is always accessible on any Steam profile, there's not anything else I see of value here. The Steam level, date joined, profile privacy, trade ban, vac ban, and community ban were all correct for me. The offline status and the friends list were wrong. Like I said, this website appears to be reading from the XML that every Steam profile exposes. If I were you, since the base information appears to be reading the XML that every Steam profile exposes, I'd trust this website for the most basic of information. Let me know if this helped :) .
How did you find their SteamRep? Did they provide a link or did you look it up yourself?

Always look it up by copy and pasting their Steam URL. Scammers will often link to another user's profile on their profile in order to trick people into thinking they are legit when impersonating another.
