I wanna say the skybox from the Soul Cairn in Skyrim, because that's the creepiest one I can recall. Just an eerie purplish sky with a huge abyss watching over you.
Amazing enemies and sounds definitely aided the atmosphere.
I feel like I'm obligated to contact a burn ward.
On its own, I think the skybox is actually very pretty. But the environment itself is what makes it really creepy, in my opinion. The mist on the ground, all the distant lightning and the black stone ruins.
