Verizon is going to own both Yahoo and AOL. So the email addresses for them are going to be merged to a new service. Kind of like how old hotmail emails are sent to outlook now.

Personally I've never had a problem with any of them. Non of them where better, or worse then the other. So it all just comes down to what you personally feel is better.

All of them suck. I personally use OpenMailbox[www.openmailbox.org]. I think it sucks less.

The most suckless email service would be one you host & manage yourself.
I've never had a problem with any Gmail account have way too many and been using for like 15 years or so.

You have to pay to host?
One doesn't need to pay to host, but you can't have your own domain name for free.

If you'd want to use your own email for registration & the sort, you'd need your own domain name; else, if one is willing to put up with an unreliable & difficult to remember public ID address, you can do that.

Gmail has the best securiy and respect mt privacy? Woohoo sign me up!
This smells of sarcasm. If it's not, I detest the decision & am amused.

There's no such thing as privacy, welcome to society.

One you host yourself. In any case, it's the individual that must make the effort - effort that goes beyond the selection of an email service provider - to take responsibility for the integrity & confidentiality of his information.

tutanota actually does respect your privacy, they cant even get the password you made up. You lose it, you lose your email. I looked a long time to find this one.
Most services - the ones that practice good safety procedures anyway - can't determine one's password anyway. Plaintext passwords are typically salted & hashed before they are stored or processed. It's not an easy task to derive the plaintext password from such ciphertext.

If you ever try to reset your password & you get an email with the plaintext password, you can be certain that whatever service you're using has some awful security practices going on.
