If it interests you here is a really cool video on the (deep breath) "3M Cantata 700 Background Music Machine" - and yes thats the same 3M company that does office things like selotape, notepads etc.
There is a sample of the music at 6 minutes into that video, but as a bonus (or a torture, delete as appropriate) theres also exists a link on the site to download a good hours worth of that specific music converted int mp3 format!
It kind of reminds me of some soundtrack from bioshock loading screens with Andrew Ryan swigging the brandy in the background or those old fashioned radio and cigarette adverts.
