PC Games Full of Immature Players?
There is an overwhelming amount of pussified extremist players on PC games compared to their console counterparts. Using really cheap weapons/tactics in order to get every little bit of edge. I've done this kind of stuff before, but honestly I don't find it fun at all. Spawncamping, camping, using OP weapons, etc. What's the fun if you can't beat the enemy in the most challenging way? I just had somebody brag about how their K/D was at 2.73 on Battlfield 3 and mine was at 2.65, when the only reason they have that K/D is because they use cheap tactics. Who's the better player? Me of course, I acheived a higher K/D using underpowered weapons simply to see what I could do with them in that match. On console, these players exist less frequently, and I just assume that they are a bit more casual and don't care enough to play like that. I've always played the same and therefore say it's not the platform that makes the gamer. Anyway, I've noticed an increase of these players since I've started on PC.

So, where does immaturity come into this.

I consider the need to feel superior to everybody else immature, and using cheap tactics in a video game in order to do so also immature.
Lol, cheap tactics. That's a new one.

Yes some players will but not all players are the same, that's my point. Some players are very team focused and even though they might look like they're only playing for kills, they just saved you so you were able to complete whatever the objective was.

You're speaking about all players who may fall into a catagory, I'm speaking of all of the players who are confirmed to be in that catagory. Also, to reinforce my comment about not caring about my K/D as compared to theirs, they never once killed me. They raised the argument because I had a killstreak on them.

Then read and understand my earlier posts because I don't think you do, they also paid money for the game and that entitles them to play however they want, you can deal with it or pick another game, that's entirely upto you. I think I'm done here.

You're seriously going in an entirely different direction. If you want to stay on topic, we can continue. What you're saying is that they have every right to play that way and if they choose to, then that's fine and they can be happy.

What I'm saying, is using these tactics to better their stats in a game in order to compare themselves to others in the game is simply immature and it is more common on PC than it is elsewhere.
We've moved from complaining about "players that play a game in the easiest way possible and how not fun it is" to "players that brag about their K/D afterwards"...
It is not as convinient to use text-chat and not as common to have a headset on a console, so maybe that's why there are less people that brag about their K/D? Also, I think there should be a mute option in CoD, if someone annoys you with anything in-game.

This will be my last reply and I was on topic.

Players will play however they want, if they find a tactic that works they'll probably use it often until it's countered, then they'll try something else. These tactics to you are cheap, to me they are not, they're a part of the game.

The bigger thing you should really worry about is why does someone else's stats seem so important to you, they're important because that's what you play for and you don't like it if someone is using a tactic you consider cheap but they have a better K/D ratio than you.

Honestly, maybe you should look at your own play before you judge others.
Immature and other distasteful people are on each and every platform.
PC players often have the advantage of mods and cheating but that's why VAC servers are around for.

K/D ratios should never have become a thing really, it creates monsters and people like OP who can't handle that other people are simply better at one thing.

Being better at that game =/= they are better than you OP.
Can't say my views correlate. I, too, transitioned from a console (Xbox 360) and a lot of players used OP weapons as well as spawn-camped. Honestly, I think it was more apparent on console, but that's just what I've perceived. From Modern Warfare 2 to Bad Company 2.

Anyways, don't hate the player hate the game. People like being effective and using all the tools at their disposal. You're using an under-powered weapon? Okay, that's how you choose to play. Why do you expect the populace to use a weapon that under-performs when the objective is to win?

Campers, especially in Battlefield, are just doing their duty. They're holding their position on the objective and holding down their ground. That's kind of a thing in real warfare.

Actually it isn't. Very common thing I seen in Counter Strike games were some people (very similar to OP) have their own server and ban people from it if you don't play how they want you to play. They usually refer to it as "cheap tactics" as an excuse because they suck at the game.

I guess thats one thing you can't do on consoles since they have no dedicated servers.

Also since OP is just repeating his arguments, not adressing counterarguments and opened up with one big ad hominem I see this as a sad troll attempt.
That isn't limited to PC games. You will find this kind of behavior on any gaming platforum, extending over multiple languages, cultures and age groups. The more people you get together, the greater the chances of running into people who act like this becomes.

personally I can't stand players that pick only the top tier and overpowered classes/heroes in games. They don't care for the story/lore of the character or how they fit into the team at all, they just choose "what is the best"

Funny thing is when I beat them using the crappy classes/heroes.

Why do these players insist on playing games in which they simply don't belong? Even Quake Live has its baddies who run their own servers to ban anyone who gets more than X points ahead of second place and they're absolutely shameless about it.

Reminds me of the Chivalry "Feinting is cheating and only beaches use it."
