In all seriousness I'd rather stick with an XBone controller with bluetooth.
I get it now. Because of USB polling issues, you're saying we can fix the adapter going to sleep by connecting it to a hub with another device that requires more-frequent poling right?
I have my Logitech F710s on a single hub. I can put a spare flash drive in there and see if that fixes the occasional-connection-drop issues.
Is a hub the same as a "USB splitter", or are you talking about something else?
Anyway sometime i don't get any drops, but sometimes i get more. I guess that because this reciever works with 2.4GHz, whitch is the same of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks and may have some interferrence with this. Maybe Logitech test this controller in isolate room and they have no problem. I wish to improve wireless conection with some antena solder to the reciever. I know that is possible. There are videos about it. Just need calculate exact how long need to be antenna according to the frequency. There are formula to do that. After that i was thinking that maybe batterry is weak and for that i get some disconnections, but i change with new one, and sometime i get drop connections again. But anyway i get better connection with this splitter.
I can try add antenna, but i'm affraid if i do something wrong, cannot get another reciever and need to trow controller too.
I know Xbox controllers are the best, but i do not like them. I'm PS controller fan. And these do not work so whell with PC, always need some configuration.
Do usb hub solve my problem?
this worked for me. thanks from 2020. made quarantine a little more bearable.
I own 4 of them and i dont wanna give up easy.
It does look that the USB receiver it is acting weird or not much sensitive.
I dont think it has to do with power saving settings because it loses response anytime not just after a long period without pressing a button...my logic is correct=?
There are one in youtube. https://youtu.be/55D9hoI4nBs
In this way, you can use some better reciever and maybe loss connection will be fixed.
Please, if someone can make tutorial how to, it will be great!
Some starting tutorial from the person who did this:

If you run this code as ROOT you will get TX address from F710 receiver.
I'm not sure about the last address byte. I only have one F710.
If you configure nrf24l01p with this parameters you should receive some packets.
I don't remember required switch position (D/X). Check both.
I recently also bought F710 and have been having the same connectivity issue since day 1. After reading this thread I tried three things (one of them being the above quoted advice), and for the first time I was able to play Rocket League absolutely without any disconnections or input lag. Maybe it was just lucky, will have to test further to confirm with certainty.
1) Switched my phone to 5GHz WiFi connection to eliminate possibility of 2.4G interference between those two. I also disabled 2.4G wifi signal completely in router settings, since I don't need it.
2) Switched the extension cable, that comes in the package, to an USB 3.0 port.
3) Took out batteries from the controller, held down "A" for 10+ seconds, and plugged batteries back in.
So far so good, will report back once I get to test it more.
The black colour willl make my hand blakc as well
I can confirm plugging receiver to HUB really solve the issue with loosing connection.
Had receiver in front USB on my desktop which was circa 2m away from controller and was loosing connection. Then I used the USB extender which came with controller and got it to 1.5m from me but still random connection lost (less frequent), then moved 1m from controller but still connection lost could happen, rarely but still could occur. Then I read in this thread to try HUB, I was skeptical about it but I tried it (nothing to loose). I hook the receiver to HUB which is circa 4m away from me, next to 2.4GHz dongle for headset, above WiFi router (both 2.4 and 5GHz), behind 2 Bluetooth dongles and unifying receiver (before it was in front of these, closest to me, now behind furthest possible) and not single lost of signal so far. So thank You to whom came to idea with USB HUB, sound weird but it works!
