Try to OC your RAM to 2933 Mhz, you'll get much better FPS
Zen especially needs fast RAM because the IMC is so bad
It (Zen and Zen+) 'require' faster memory because that's the speed their interconnect (that connects the CCX's together) runs at. So by running slow RAM, you're slowing the speed at which the cores can talk/share information. But there is a point where it doesn't matter, that's around 3200mhz.
If the IMC was bad, it wouldn't let the memory run at those speeds.
Don't get me wrong, the IMC's in Ryzen CPUs are pretty bad, compared to Intel, but they're by no means the cause of lower performance with Ryzen CPUs.

I mean it's almost twice the necessary wattage for even a 2080 Ti and 9900K build, but we have no idea how much power future GPUs will draw anyway.
Yeesh. All the more reason not to buy Intel, because you're easily going to pay over twice as much to use it as you would paying for the power consumed by Ryzen 9.
I'm all for more performance, but the power cost shouldn't be so outrageous.
3990X's listed TDP is only 280W... We'll see how much power these 2 chips actually use after launch.
