Would a Lenovo G500 run this?
I have a Lenovo G500 Laptop with WIN8 on it. It has an Intel Dual Core 1.9GHz Processor, and 4 GB of ram, unspecified graphics card. Could it run GTA 4 at least on the most minimal settings? What would be some games that my system could run before I upgrade the processor and other misc. parts?

Look on the bottom of the laptop for a Lenovo sticker with the full model# on it.
Looking that up will help us see your full system specs.
If you can't seem to locate it, it may be hidden behind the battery.

I can't say for sure (based on the currently provided info) if GTA4 will run or not. Most likely yes, but it will most likely run VERY slow, even at minimal settings. You pretty much must have some sort of AMD or NVIDIA GPU in the system to run such a game well, even at low settings. And with a dual-core CPU, that will also hold u back quite a bit, but that depends on the CPU model. As some i3 might be able to pull off decent performance as far as CPU comparisons go.

Once you share the full system specs and/or model#, we can determine more.

EDIT:
If this is the only system u have to play games on, then I wouldn't waste my time. G500 is a very cheaply priced and basic-use laptop. Not going to run any DX/OGL apps/games very well. For that I would suggest a Lenovo IdeaPad Y series[shop.lenovo.com], as they are more suited for gaming purposes/requirements.

it has an Intel HD Graphics card, but thats more of what I can find out.

Edit:OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / Windows XP - Service Pack 3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4GHz
Memory: 1.5GB XP / 1.5GB Vista
Graphics: 256MB Nvidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c Compliant Card
Hard Drive: 16GB of Hard Disc Space
Sound Card: 5.1 Channel Audio Card

Those are GTA IV's System Requirements and I have some of my specs up top. Could I get help reading and interpreting them.

It's quite simple, Intel Graphics is not for gaming (while it may work/run, it will be super-slow at best) and with a buggy game like GTA4, the answer is no. Especially not on a laptop such as a G500.

I am able to run graphically demanding games on highest settings at a 15-20 FPS like the MMORPG Vindictus. That needs higher and much more demanding hardware than GTA IV. Would that say anything?
Its really up to you, it will run, but id say youd only be getting 25-30ish frames at best with most settings on low or off (ie AA and filtering). If youre cool with that - and I mean honestly the console versions practically run like that anyways with framerate hiccups a plenty - then yes, by all means it will at least run
^ case in point, i believe the console versions are perfectly playable

I dont have a ps3 or xbox360... my laptop is the most powerful piece of hardware I own.
aha yea, what im getting at is if you do find the console versions servicable, then the performance on your laptop should be as well

I can also honestly say I own both GTAIV & EFLC and I know from experience how these run on various hardware setups. And all I can say is, with a G500 laptop, it will just be a waste to buy them, thinking you will have a playable or enjoyable experience. NO; buy a console to play them on, or buy a better, beefy gaming PC.
