Two microphones, one room. Need help please.
My wife and I are trying to use both a head set and webcam (mic) in the same room (opposite sides).

Is there any way to prevent my voice from traveling through her mic, into my own headset?

We even tried with just her webcam and me with nothing...I shut off my speakers before it got bad.

We are trying to voice chat with friends for an MMO, using Dolby Axon. She is using a Logitech C270. I'm using a Logitech H120.

Thanks for the help.

...if we could spare that much to fix the issue, then there wouldn't be an issue to fix. I would have already done it.

If I can't fix it with the current set-up then we will just have to try something else. Maybe one of us can be a relay between the group...

you could get her a pair of headphones like yours they have noise canceling build in.

This. If you use a mic designed to pick up sounds in the room (the web cam mic), then expect it to pick up the sounds in the room.

The choice was two headsets or spend a little more and get one headset and a decent quality web-cam so she can use it for video calls too.

If we want another headset, we have to wait for another month with an extra paycheck in it.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Then we will have to relay untill we can get another set.

You can get something like this.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104386

15 bucks and free shipping!

Not sure how well it works but i'm fairly confident that it will work better than a webcam

The H150 was $20 at Walmart. Either way, would have to wait.

And the web-cam is multipurpose. That is why we were willing to spend a bit more for it.

Thanks though.

Another option - a screen with an acoustic cover, such as the bark of cork oak (some people use a package from a large TV / fridge, hanging up on him fabric (bed sheet or blank) it divides the sound waves and partly absorb them.

what software you are using for your communication totoro?
you can try lowering the mic sensitivity from the communication app setting that you use.
harder sensitivity makes the mic a "harder" time to detect voice (had to speak louder), therefore, your wife's voice won't be detected. Unless your PC are next to each other lol.

or you can try making it push-to-talk using your communication app (I know ts & vent can do that)

I could offer more solution (by buying new mic), but thats not a given I guess

:d2tidehunter: ouches
