Also for 24h2 being an optional update. Microsoft has already taken the download of 23h2 off line. And Even Rufus now makes complaints now about how you might get Secure Boot warnings when trying to install from USB if you still have a 23h2 iso to use. Basically you might have to disable BIOS Secure Boot install 23h2, update it and then turn it back on after updates keys are updated.
edit: all the freezes and audio nonsense are finally gone, honestly F 24h2
Do you have an extra blank SSD of any kind you can use for testing purposes?
If so, disconnect the current OS drive from the PC.
Install a different blank SSD and do a clean install of Win11 24H2 and go from there and do some tests with that and see how it does.
if it isn't broken then you don't need to upgrade unless it brings more fps but more fps isn't excused by unstable crap
Mine pc technician that i know him since 2006 and has lot experience has told me that none of his clients has installed 11 on ther pcs or laptop and he said that he will keep 10 until the support ends.
And one month ago i talked with another pc techncian who has a shop in my neighborhood for pc and laptop services and also websites development.
He said that he as a professional he still uses 10 and will keep 10 until the support ends and even after the support ends because he has read about all the problems that many people have wqith 11 and also because he waits to see if microsoft decides to lower the requirements or if they decide to extend the support of windows 10.
He told me that i want to install 11 on m pc with Rufus to do it but he said that there is no reason to do it for now.
Also he said that when the support ends this dosent means that the programs that we use each day like Firefox for internet and steam for games that they will stop working. Windows 7 end of support was in 2020 and steam supported it in 2024 and just few weeks ago italked with someone on a pc forum who told us that he had 7 until this September and that he didnt have any problems on most new games and programs.
Cause the let the public be their free beta testers
The World is on WinOS cause "The World" is mostly stupid.
Switch to Linux. Don't look back.
if you wanna write 500 lines just to download a game then thats fine for you
90% of normal people prefer windows because it is the dominant OS for everything, unfortunately windows does give ♥♥♥♥♥♥ updates that break everything like 24h2
also any suggestions for ram brand? I'm upgrading my 2nd pc from 32gb to 64 but not sure if to choose corsair or gskill or even kingston
There is a way to disable updates, many ways.
It is better than being a Beta tester for your OS
Otherwise I'd look strongly at switching to Linux.
Not all Linux distros are the same.
Mostly all the games on Steam have little to no issues running fine on Linux, even some WinOS only games. Let's be real, Win11 is pure trash.
