Windows 11 24H2 update breaks things

Installed the windows 24h2 update today, after Civilization V would not start. I made a restore point before installing the update. After running the restore Civilization V still wouldn't start. Thanks Microsoft.

You also need to change the graphics card becasue now they started releasing games that dont work on cards that dont have ray tracing like the 1080ti that you have and Indiana jones is just the begining as it is the frist game that requires ray tracing(rtx 2000 or better).

Well like I already said, 23H2 doesn't expire for support until Oct 2025. So no need to use 24H2 just yet. If you must use Win11 just stay on 23H2

Prior to 24H2 it was 100% stable. Not a single issue for me.

Might not want to jump on every major update at first, similar to Win10 in it's youth (and until the last major update), Windows OS should be taken with all precaution when updating, especially pertaining major updates such as 24H2.

microsoft has probably hired 1 million cavemen to mindlessly type until they get semi working code since after windows 10, like i said, wait for windows 11 to be stable and THEN upgrade to windows 11, i have issues with windows 11 on capable hardware all the time with my laptop, always manages to somehow lose the windows bar at the bottom which i didn't even think was possible

I used to see this happen on Win10 back in 2018.

Might be just bad luck. The only thing that remotely resembles a bug for me is the language bar sometimes disappears when I launch certain games.

Which... is fixed by launching certain other games lol.

Don't ask why, I have no idea.

But yeah, apart from that, runs well.

Also the start menu of W11 is MILES better than W10.

Apart from having to re-install DirectX as I memtioned in an earlier post I've had zero trouble or 'instability' with 24H2.

so you say that i must keep windows 11 on the usb and not install it now until the support of 10 ends? Or change cpu ram and motherboard (ryzen 9700x 32 gb ddr5 6400 mhz and x870) and then install it through windows update?
Also it seems that windows 11 have failed because 3 years and 6 months have passed since it released in June 2021 and until now i know onyl 3 people who have installed it:
One of my friends who did a full pc upgrade in 2022(cpu ram motherboard graphics card ssd psu case) and then he gor the message from windows update and he upgraded to 11, one of my colleauge and hif wife who upgeaded from 10 to 11 in 2023 . He upgraded his pc and then he downloaded 11 through windows update but his wife didnt want to upgrade her pc and he installed it to it through Rufus

How did microsoft hired cavemen? Did they travell back in time and brought some cavemen to our time?

Also having a problem with hard freezing and crashes to desktop when I play Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. Haven't had a problem with Last Epoch.... yet. All my drivers are up-to-date. I have Win 11 Ver 24H2 and I believe that may be the problem.

Not only is this Win11 update 24H2 broken, internet trolls also break things when they give deliberate, hurtful bad advice, so remember that as well - be safe out there, grain of salt.
