8bitdo SN30 Pro: Unable to get DPAD/analog sticks to work
When setting the controller (big screen mode), I am able to assign most buttons. When getting to the DPAD/analog sticks, the individual directions get overriden by what seems to be the axis (XY). Once I save, I can't navigate the UI because none of the directional buttons work. The Accept/Cancel buttons seem to work fine. Additionally, the keyboard navigation seems to have disappeared as soon as I save the config.

I am not interested in playing any game with keyboard (hate all you want), and I would like to find a solution for this issue. Thanks in advance for any useful tips.

dpad and analog are often finicky depending on the mode it's in.

I prefer to leave it in directinput mode and map everything directly to keystrokes with Antimicro.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried this utility, but nothing changed, same issue.

Ok so the solution was:
a) connect in Switch mode
b) when settings the preferences:
- skip the guide button (use mouse to select next field in the form)
- skip the analog stick buttons (use mouse...)
- skip the DPAD (use mouse...)
- enter only axes for the left analog stick, skip the right analog stick (use mouse...)
- enter the shoulder buttons (necessary, because form does not show the save button otherwise)

Use joytokey, it's a program when you costum your configs to get the system think that you're still using wasd

Have you updated the device? Their homepage should have drivers for it that would help.

All my game controllers ( keyboard, mouse, game pad) have become, suddenly, erratic. Character/ship moving full speed one way and a struggle to get to kind of move in the correct direction. Can't find Steam support for "non-Steam games" but its all four Steam games I've tried tonight not any one game company.
