I might buy a 5080, that'll do fine.

Besides, why do people always make fun them? Like who the F cares about the card sizes. If you buy any GPU without knowing it'll fit and connect up fine, you didn't do your part first before buying

you are talking about the majority of people that will buy a 90 class card. They wont put any thought into the size and just think it wont be no bigger than the 4090 or maybe slightly bigger when it couldnt be further from the truth.

That's a huge GPU die... like ridiculously large...

2.5k cost is my guess, if not more.
The cost isnt even the cards main problem. Its the size of the heatsink and the cover it will need. Its so damn big they will need a new type of tower and motherboard for it.

I will wait for the 5080Ti but in the meantime I wonder what kind of cinderblock AMD will come up with

they wont be coming out with any high end cards this time around wich is a good thing. The 5090 launch is shaping up to be a total disaster.

I think Nvidia has 2 choices and these arent good. either cut down the 5090 or cancel it completely.

My theory is they may be canceling the 5090 because they are apparently launching the 5080 first wich is really unusual.

or they may be trying to buy themselves time to make a cut down version of the 5090.

If NVIDIA bothers to release such a product. 4080s is an underwhelming product by any standard and it hardly performs that much better than the non super variant.
I sincerely believe NVIDIA will leave the massive gap between the 80 and 90 tier like they did with Ada.

I think if they do come out with a 5090 it will be very cut down because the way it is now the heatsink would just be too damn big.

i wouldnt be suprised at all if they cut it down and went with the same core count as the 4090.
but then again they could simply cancel the launch of the 5090.

either way its not good for nvidia.

We'll see I guess. Ces is around the corner but that die size would explain the difficulties they had with Blackwell launch.

no ♥♥♥♥ it would create difficulties and have these difficulties been sorted out. i honestly doubt it because its not like they can just simply ship the card without a massive heatsink lol.

yea but my discussion isnt about the 5080ti. if you want to get one good for you. the theoretical 5080ti isnt the problem child here but the 5090.

and F over all the investors and stock holders... LOL yea right.
They can't just up and do that when they already stopped making new 4090 and 4080 month or so ago.

Like Bad Motha said the size of the GPU inst a issue unless you personally make it one

I don't know what people really expect. When the 5090 GPU has the power of like a dozen or so 7900 XTX
