Good wireless controller sub $80?
What's a sturdy, wireless, good compatibility, low lag controller for steam games? Has to have it's own wireless dongle, not just WiFi or Bluetooth.

The Xbox one is okay but you have to buy the wireless dongle separately.

I'd like to buy that but I'm trying to avoid giving MS money for anything.

Are there any other good xbox wireless controlllers that also work well for steam?
Xbox series and dongle. Plus you can usually find the rechargeable battery pack for cheap.

Or 8bitdo

The PowerA ones are cheaper than the official ones and very good quality, perhaps better than MS.
8bitdo
I think Hori do some also, they usually make decent peripherals for consoles.
8BitDo any day by far.

Using their Xbox Ultimate and it's much better then ANY MS or licensed Xbox One, Core, X controller that those brands offer. The 8BitDo Xbox Ultimate controller supports 2.4Ghz Wireless and BT, switching the back to toggle between this mode. Comes with 8BitDo 2.4Ghz Wireless USB dongle already and a charging stand that uses USB Type C. No problems using it in WinOS, Steam, UConnect, Rockstar Games or via BT on a Phone, Tablet or Smart TV

Only Xbox Controllers I kept were Limited Edition ones for obvious reasons. As I do love the one I have that is themed around SEA OF THIEVES for sure but it's for my collection is all and if I ever sell it it's probably could fetch well above $150 now since you can't get it anywhere anymore.

I like my Sony DS4 controller also but the DS5 controller is trash, at least when it comes to PC

The 8bitdo ultimate 2c comes with a usb dongle, looks like a good choice. The PowerA doesn't seem to supply a dongle with the cheaper models or it's not clear enough whether or not they do.

I prefer the feel of the thumbstick pads and buttons on the Xbox controller but that's just me

I looked up the 8bitdo ones and they look great. Way cheaper than the official one I got + Dongle + Batteries/charger.

The 8bitDo has controllers with same layout you'd never know it wasn't an Xboz controller in your hands. However none of the MS Xbox controller are as well built and such. Plus the 8bitDo Ultimate has better sticks, zero drift, more fluid triggers.

Amazon often has 8bitDo Ultimate with uab dongle ans charging cradle for $50-60 all you need is a USB Type-C cable like what already should have from a good phone or tablet
