GT630 to GTX650...any good?
I posted a discussion where I asked why Witcher 2 lags so much. Apparently from what ive heard its my graphics card, a Nvidia Geforce 630. It came with my computer, a Lenovo Ideacentre K450. So I just wanted to ask, is a GTX650 a big enough step up from the 630 where I will notice a difference? will games run better? There are so many different kinds of graphics cards, just want to know if the GTX650 is good enough. Will probably have to replace my power supply to. think my computer just came with 280 watt for power supply.

FYI: im not expecting to play battlefield 4 on ultra settings. I want to be able to play games like the Witcher 2 and Batman: arkahm origins.

Since you need to replace the PSU anyway then better go for GTX 660 or GTX 760.
An yes even GTX 650 Ti would be huge jump from GT 630.

Thank you. May just stick with 650. seems to be a pretty big price difference for 660 and 760. My PC is kinda secondary to my consoles (the new ones).
If you go for 650 then get the 2 Gb VRAM Ti version, it's more powerful with little price difference.
GTX 660 is not that expensive actually, you can usually get them for $160-170.

yea there are a bunch of different ones, I see on best buy store. the one I was looking at was the cheap 100 dollar one, 1gb. looks like there is one on sale for 130, has 2gb GDDR5. the one with Ti is 200. might go with the

PNY - XLR8 Geforce GTX 650 2gb GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0

seems to have more reviewes than the cheaper one and expensive one. close to the price I want to pay also.

thanks for the help.

i have only a single pci 3 slot, cant fit those. any other suggestions? and 2pci dual slot

When it says it needs two slots, it means it will plug into the PCI-E slot you have and physically cover the slot below it on your motherboard.
i'd just look for a second hand card on ebay, a 660ti maybe if you are lucky

ink rotNdude was right. just have to look inside my computer to see if a 3 pci dual slot will fit.

The 650 isn't very good, it would be a big jump up to the 650 ti though.

Also I would recommend a GTX 660 or 760 like has already been said. Those are the smartest to buy going forwards, that or a HD 7790 (cheapest option @ like $115), R7 260X or R9 270 or 270X from AMD.

Assuming a GTX 650 is all you can afford, I'd go for it. I have a GTX 650 TI Boost, and it's done awesome thus far.

The 650 is a LOT below even a 650 ti, the difference is 800~ GFLOPS vs 1400~ GFLOPS. The GTX 650 ti is almost 2 times better.

Weeeelllll if i wait a bit and put it off (and take apart my computer to see if it will fit) maybe ill go with one of the more expensive ones like a gtx 660. You all make it sound like it would be worth the wait.

Yes, GTX 660 is much better card and can run any modern game with single monitor no problem, not all games on ultra with all the bells and whistles but even most demanding ones at least on high settings.

Figured id let everyone know i updated my computer just now. 280 watt power supply to 600. Graphics card geforce gt 630 to geforce gtx 660. Sadly i only have a PCI 2.0 not a PCI 3.0, so claims are that i wont get all the power i possibly can out of this card, but it should be vastly better. Thanks all for the help, heres hoping it looks good.
