As long as your chassis is wide enough to have a 120mm rear fan placement; then a tower-cooler like a Hyper212 shouldn't be of any issue. The only issues being that if your case originally has a side-air-duct-scoop (some OEM cases have this); you were wanting to place a side panel fan to blow over the CPU area; or have tall heat-speader RAM. Those 3 factors would get in your way. But those shouldn't be an issue to remove, and wouldn't be needed with such a cooler. Best bet is using low-profile RAM; for example; ones like (or similar) to G-Skill ARES, Corsair Vengeance LP
If a Hyper212 is really "too big" then use a HyperTX3 which is similar, but smaller due to 92mm fan size. But again it also has less heat-pipes and might not yeild such a great OC. Still beats a majority of the down-ward-facing OEM style coolers. Unless you going with a really small form-factor chassis where those types might be needed.
My RAM should not be an issue since there are no heat spreaders and it is simply Kingston Value RAM which the board was quite finicky to get memory that would allow POST.
I will check out the HyperTX3 also as you suggested here and compare that to the dimensions of the Hyper212 and perhaps make a decision based on those two.
I do not plan to go heavy on any overclocking, just a gentle increase in the multiplier and that has not given me any problems for a few years on this board/CPU before so that should not be a problem either.
I am almost sure my case does indeed have a 120mm rear case fan, so I will do more research here and go with one or the other most likely.
Thanks again so much for helping always in the forums and for your help here, once again.
Maybe take the time to just try that on your LGA-775 setup and see how it fits and performs.
While it might be a pain to swap from one motherboard to another; it might save u from a bad purchase and/or disappointment overall.
I wish I would have done that now, just bought another one that is, since I would now know for sure or not if it would fit...LOL
That is mainly why I was asking here, because I was sure you guys have had experience with older sockets.
Nothing against old school here, if it is a recommendation from the good users in this forum. Thanks for your comment here and I have made a note of those coolers also. I do recall reading some before on the Silent Knight, and I also have a Q6600 in another hobby build of mine ! LOL
Thanks again, as it is much appreciated.
I have a GTX 560 Ti and a GTX 260 also for the GPU, so I am good to go on pretty much everything but the cooler. You guys are really awesome and that goes for the rest of the community here !

Thanks again for the comment here and for the help. I do in fact have the board out of the case now and so your suggestion is appreciated as well as the link here. Again, I am glad to have all the options I can get.
