And use V-sync with low requirements games so it wont run them with 400 fps and overheat.
65 - 75 *C is quite normal for higher-end performance GPUs.
I however, dislike relying on the GPUs Auto Fan profile setting for controlling GPU fan/temps. I prefer Auto for normal Windows usage; and Manual Fan % for Gaming.
Use latest version of MSI Afterburner + RiveTuner bundle from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MSI AB website.
At 980ti, overheating at normal use should definitely not be a problem. At an OC-model, even less so, because coolant materials and extra fans are in place, fans don´t even start under 60c... But hey, all cards are not exactly alike.
If you keep getting, like, 75celcius when playing mah-jong or "normal" games (I mean not Witcher3 etc), then you should take it back, something seems to be wrong...
Use the monitor software first, there you can follow the processes and what makes it so hot.
