''Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware'' GTA V - '' Failed Initialization"
Hey all.

Before I start I'd like to say I have downloaded and played Runecape and CS:GO with no trouble at all. Both run fine. This is an issue with GTA and my graphics hardware.
I have just downloaded GTA V and upon launching story mode reduced all the settings to the lowest to ensure it runs as good as it can on my computer.

I have an Acer Aspire V15 - V3-572-78VK Edit: I have had this laptop for 3 weeks

Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
GPU: Broadwell GT2
Release date: Jan 5, 2015.
Device ID: 8086-1616
Driver Version: 10.18.14.4062 WHQL/Win8.1 64
GPU Clock: 300 MHz Memory 800 MHz
Defult Clock: 300 MHz Memory 800 MHz
Multi GPU: Disabled
Computing: Enabled: OpenCL, DirectCompute5.0 Disabled: CUDA, PhysX

Processor:
Intel core i7 5500U
4GB Ram
500GB HDD

So, I downloaded GTA and ran it, changing all the settings to 'Low' when I loaded story mode it crashed a few seconds after the story begins. I downloaded a program called Master Burner to moniter the GPU when this crash happens, and you can see in this imgue album that it goes from 0-100% pretty much before crashing. I then get the error messages. The ''application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware'' http://imgur.com/a/KoEw8

I have tried updating my driver software, doing windows updates and searching the graphics card program (Intel) to see if I can make changes but I can't work it out and disabling my graphics card then enabling it again.

I did some digging online and found some possible fixes but I'm not entirely sure how to implement them.

Someone used Master Burner to turn down the Core Clock and the Memory Clock by 100, making them both '-100' and this will stop the gpu from 'overclocking' ?

Someone also suggests the problem is to do with GTA needing PhysX and my card not having it enabled, is there a way to turn it on?

I hope I provided enough information for you to help me.

I'm by no means great at using computers, google is my friend when it comes to these issues and I have tried my best by myself but I'm afraid of messing something up!

Thanks a lot!

Go into the event viewer on you system,

go to "Windows Logs", then "Application".

Look for critical level errors.

You should have some for this crash.

Copy the "general" text box into here so we can see the error message.

I would go on a limb and say your setup is just not powerful enough for GTAV. But we'll know more when you provide the error log.

maybe it's your system not being powerfull enough. CS:GO and runescape are both great games , but they're definitely not anywhere near as demanding as GTA V , even on low settings. I hope you find a solution , but i'm affraid your system is just simply not able to handle it.

i don't have this problem, but searching in google for this error most sites tell people To update the video card drivers. also some sites say its a comum problem with windws 8, i don't think you compunter can't run the game, but anyway, what is you OS? is windows 8? did you drivers are updated? to update you need to go to the fabricant model website and download, windows trying to update most times it don't work. http://www.intel.com/p/pt_BR/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu in last case if you can't find the driver you can try the Slimdriver program that find the drivers for you
