Undertale

Undertale

Will My Potato of a Computer Run It?
*TL;DR at bottom*
I have a really old laptop. Like, REALLY old.
Specs are:
Windows XP
2GB of RAM
1.86GHz Intel processor
DirectX version 9.0c
I'm not exactly sure what janky video card I have. I want to get into light gaming on my laptop. More specifically, I want to play Undertale. The graphics in that look like something out of Earthbound; nothing too graphically demanding it seems. Another not very graphically advanced game I'm kinda curious about Huniepop (don't ask). Obviously, I won't be playing GTA5 or Skyrim on this thing, but could I at least play games that don't require me to have a godlike computer? Or should I just save up for a newer computer?

TL;DR is it possible to play at least some games on a rather old/outdated laptop?

Why not buy it and find out - it's possible to return it if it doesn't work on your computer.

As long as the games u wish to play on that only require:
- 32bit OS
- DirectX 9.0c maximum

then u should be ok. If it is a laptop w/ those specs; I can assure you the GPU is very weak, even if it has a dedicated AMD/NVIDIA GPU, it will be too old to really matter.

But for Indie games really they'll run on very low specs.

Again just look at store specs. If it says "64bit OS" "DirectX 10 or 11" then u know to not bother, cause it can't run on your specs.

Sorry in advance for the super late reply. This post got moved to the Undertale threads without me noticing, making it kinda hard to find, and Steam wouldn't let me reply without spending money on something first. That being said, I did eventually buy Huniepop (seriously, don't ask). It actually runs pretty well. It doesn't run perfectly and it takes FOREVER to start up, but it runs well enough that I can play the game. Undertale, on the other hand, can't even boot up without crashing :( Christmas is coming up, I suppose I should get a new computer haha. Thanks to anyone who replied.

Eh, you might have some minor issues with one of the final bosses (the one you always face on your first playthrough) but I doubt it. Apart from that, definitely.

The best thing in my opinion would be downloading and trying to run the demo, it's on the official site.

Ignoring the fact you bought a dating sim, I'd say you should probably get more GHz on your processor.
