What a ridiculous assertion.
Adding 8GB Ram is within spec and clearly doesn't mean you should expect it to crash.
Please take your unhelpful snobbery elsewhere.

try it for a HP Omen
If they are crap that's fine to say, but how is that remotely related to a laptop I have that works PERFECTLY with heavy use and has only manifested this problem which seems to be a bad memory stick?
Ergo, if you can't answer the point constructively, stay away. That's not what I'm after.
For a starts, I havne't used best buy as I'm not American and that has nothing to do with the anything here.
Everything is obviously as updated as it can possibly be.
Game launching is irrelevant I think too because that has nothing to do with this issue as it manifests at any time. So far, I haven't even had it in any game.
Try it for an HP Omen?
I don't even know what that's supposed to mean.
That's one of the things I was wondering about. I mean it SEEMS accroding to the specs it's compatible.
Maybe I'm missing something as my knowledge is limited as I say. I want to make sure there's nothing daft like someone saying "oh you fool, it's this BIOS setting to drop the voltage" or something weird like that.
I'm happy to return it to Amazon again and just ask for something from a new batch of a differnt supplier, but I want to try and make sure I'm not going down a rabbit hole of ignorance, if you get my meaning.
Event Viewer is a component of Microsoft's Windows NT operating system that lets administrators and users view the event logs on a local or remote machine. Wikipedia

Sadly. nothing of note showing in any of the event viewer logs.
Nothing under hardware at all, and the only thing that has entries are the adminstrative events, which are things about skype (which I've disabled).
So nope, nothing there, especially at the times I noted the crashes.

Where on earth are you getting these wild ideas from?
I haven't played TF2 in YEARS. This doesn't happen in games as yet.
Are you reading my posts at all, or are you responding to a different post and getting this confused with mine?
I didn't understand why you bought up Best Buy, and I didn;t understand why you bought up gaming, especially when I've ALREADY said this hasn't happened during games.
Now you bring up a game I haven't played or even mentioned. Nor has verifying steam cache.
What's going on here?

Can you at least please answer my questions?
At this point I have no faith you even understand what the hell the issue is, so I've no intention of going down a rabbit hole that's irrelevant.
So please answer what I asked.
sorry your thread is posting in the tf2 forums, maybe i need to read it more carefully
