PCI Device drivers missing but windows can't update them
I recently reinstalled windows on my PC, and ever since that I have been having instability and blue screens in games from what looks to be missing drivers.

I managed to install Intel ME which was missing, but the rest of the drivers such as "PCI Device, PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller, RAID Controller, SM Bus Controller, Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller and Unknown Device" are still missing.

Can anyone help me fix this?

My motherboard is a z790 Maximus Hero if that helps.

Also I am having issues in games where the game will freeze but audio will continue to play.

I also managed to get a BSOD with the error code KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I installed all of the latest drivers off the motherboard website and also Intel Driver and Update Assistant but the PCI drivers are still missing.

Have you tried sfc?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e#:~:text=sfc%20%2Fscannow,the%20Windows%20operating%20system%20folder.
Yep, initially it did find corrupt files, but I still had crashes after that.

I just tried doing another one and it couldn't find any more corrupt files.

did you install all the mobo drivers?
You didn't install all of the drivers. Go to the webpage and download them.

I installed everything other than Intel Dynamic Tuning Utility (APO), Audio and VGA.

I didn’t bother with the first two because APO is disabled in my BIOS, and the audio driver is already installed.

where do you see intel dynamic tuning utility?
its not on the mboo mfg page for the drivers

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-hero-model/helpdesk_download/

install the lan, wifi, chipset, audio, vga, bt, tb drivers
but not the sata or asus armoury crate

if you had drivers from windows update, they are never correct, but generic that cover most hardware good enough to use it, but not full functionality like your pc is using now

It's from the Chipset driver section at the very top

You don't get the drivers that way, download then all from the online source and run the installers.

For any Intel Chipset juat go to website and run the scan. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

You don't need to flash your BIOS. Just reinstall the motherboard's specific drivers.

Install the Chipset Driver; then once installed and rebooted, go to the Intel website I linked to get the more recent updates to said drivers.
