Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
update bios and get the correct drivers here
https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-hero-model/helpdesk_download/
ladn, wifi, chipset, audio, bt, tb
do not us armoury crate, or sata (thats only for raid from bios)
I also managed to get a BSOD with the error code KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
I installed all of the latest drivers off the motherboard website and also Intel Driver and Update Assistant but the PCI drivers are still missing.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e#:~:text=sfc%20%2Fscannow,the%20Windows%20operating%20system%20folder.
I just tried doing another one and it couldn't find any more corrupt files.
I didn’t bother with the first two because APO is disabled in my BIOS, and the audio driver is already installed.
its not on the mboo mfg page for the drivers
https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-hero-model/helpdesk_download/
install the lan, wifi, chipset, audio, vga, bt, tb drivers
but not the sata or asus armoury crate
if you had drivers from windows update, they are never correct, but generic that cover most hardware good enough to use it, but not full functionality like your pc is using now
For any Intel Chipset juat go to website and run the scan. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
