i was wondering if there is such thing as an external cpu for a laptop because i only have a i3 processor and would like to have an i5 without taking apart my laptop.

Get an Authorized Technician to upgrade your laptop.
ok thanks i was going to i there wasnt a external cpu
In a nutshell no there isn't.

Laptops really aren't designed to be upgraded that much so basically if you want a faster one then it'll be a in the bin job.
i have found an i5 which i will be using
Also if your buying a new one then think about the future and its specs.

ie maybe look at a I7 one with a good graphics subsystem and 16GB of ram, though Ram you tend to be able to upgrade later, but the Graphics and CPU not so much.

And you can always use External HD's if you run out of disk space.

Unless you really need a portable computer, a custom desktop lasts a lot longer and can be upgraded a lot more, and is the best choice if your into gaming.
i have resesrched i can run fallout 4 on min graphics so im fine i just can't record at same time.
