My monitor doesn't have any built-in speakers.
But if yours doesn't either, I'm not sure what my problem could be.
Most PCs do not have Optical Input; only Output. Unless you have a dedicated Sound Card that offers both.
You can use the Analog RCA from PS3 to get Audio; then use a "Female RCA to Male 3.5mm" audio cable adapter and plug the PS3's audio into the Line-In on your PC Rear Audio. Then un-mute the Line-In in Windows on that PC and the PS3 audio should come through the PC and output through the PC's connected Speakers or Headset; provided the PC stays on while using the PS3.
Probably a stupid question, but how I would check to see if my PC has an Optical Input?
