3 Beeps on Startup
Hello!

So I got myself a new PC, unfortunately I had it made by someone else, so now it's a bit tough to fix things without taking everything apart (the ram are basically unreachable unless i take out the entire cooler)
First off my Specs: Microsoft 10
Geforce RTX 3080 (ASUS TUF GAMING)
Intel i9 10900K 3,70GHz, 10 Cores
2x 16GB DDR4-3600 Corsair Vengeance LPX

My problem is a bit weird. I use the ROG STRIX Z490-E Gaming, with AMIBIOS, and when I start the PC it beeps 3 times in a short row. Now I know this means base 64kb memory failure.
The easiest solution is: look if they are plugged in correctly. As far as I can tell they are.

The thing is, I know there is an onboard graphics card, and there might be the problem. So when I plug my monitor into the mainboard, there's no problem, only when I plug it into my graphics card (the RTX 3080 that is) the 3 beeps start. Weirldy enough though, everything works just fine. The PC boots up, and I can play even quite demanding games without any issue.

Still, is there a way to get those 3 beeps away or do I just have to live with them now?

I would check to see if the memory sticks are compatible with your motherboard. You will be surprised how many are in-compatible.
Test the memory modules one at a time.It could also mean the memory sticks are corrupted and need to be replaced.

I mean that would be kind of unfortunate since they are brand new. But also: nothing beeps when I plug in the monitor into the motherboard directly, so that cant be it. Because if that was the case it would beep no matter what, but it ONLY beeps if i plug in the monitor into the graphics card.

I would take it to a qualified PC repair shop. This is unusual indeed.

It literally came from there lol, as I said I didnt build it. And the RAM are clearly working, since I can play games like say Red Dead 2 on cranked up settings without any issue.

3 short beeps for Amibios means base 64kb ram failure.

Meaning there's a problem with ram.

But it's quite odd that it only happens when you connect your monitor to the graphics card.

Yes, as I said in my post I figured that out, except the RAM is working. So I dont know why it happens and I dont know how to fix it.

I think you should contact the motherboard manufacturer and/or graphics card manufacturer to see if they might know something.
So I restarted my PC again, this time it beeped 4 times. Then I restarted it again and it beeped 3 times. Im at a loss here. And again - only if plugged into the graphics card, otherwise no beeping at all.

Beginning to sound more a problem with the motherboard.

You don't happen to have a spare graphics cards laying around you could swap with to see if the problem persists?

Otherwise you may need to complain to the shop that assembled it or RMA it.

The 3080 has 10GB DDR6 vRAM, right? Could the problem be there? OP said his RAM modules are seated correctly. Since it's new, try exchanging the graphics card? They're still very new to the consumer market.

I do. But im wondering if its really necessary? I mean as mentioned, the entire pc runs perfectly fine. So as long as there are no problems other than beeps at startup, is it really a problem?
Considering if I had a mainboard without a speaker I wouldnt even hear it in the first place.

Update: I contacted the company that made my PC. They told me that this is due to the graphics card being new, and its normal, and all I can do for now is wait for a new BIOS update, but the PC is working regardless (as it does)
