wondering about the 4070 ti paired with 620 wat psu
curious as to if a 620w seasonic psu bronze rated is enough to power a 4070ti paired with a i9-9900k and a 1440p monitor?

Possibly pushing it, but possibly passable. That's presuming it's a good PSU. 620W Bronze doesn't mean everything, but I'd be wanting a Gold rated PSU for such specifications (not that rating equals quality).

People have used 7800 XTs (similar-ish power draw but a bit lower) with 560W PSUs but that too would have been pushing it. I don't know what CPUs they had though. The 9900K can push up to 200W or to 250W (overclocked) with a heavy AVX load; games should be less. The GPU is another between 250W to 300W.

Monitor doesn't matter for power draw.

thank you for the feed back. also bouncing off what you said about the cpu and gpu wattage its seems like the most i would be using would potentially be around 500w. do you think that is to close to the power supplies limit or should it be fine. sorry if this comes off as confusing im still tryna learn all this stuff.
I went high-end and received an estimate of 525W usage.

Without knowing the other hardware, this is what I came up with...

I do believe the standards are to remain at least 100W under what is needed and while not knowing the other hardware - tis hard to tell/say.

But, if the estimate is proper, it would be okay.

You can see for yourself:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

It's not my list but you can make your own if you know all the hardware.

It shows the wattage and such...

All GPUs in RTX 40 series that are lower then 4080 are all generally low powered GPUs so they are not power hogs.

600-650 Watt Gold Cerified PSU by a good brand should do just fine, regardless of what CPU you have.

Only should need a higher PSU if your GPU can use upwards of 320-350+ watts on full loads; such as RTX 3080 / 3080 Ti / 3090 / 3090 Ti / 4080 / 4090

I would sure as hell not risk a $800 GPU on $50 PSU.

Also does it even have enough connectors to feed the 16-pin adapter that 4070 Ti uses?
Either way it would be a train wreck.

not at all enough wattage.

you look for the recommended wattage and go over that number and mostly they recommended 800/850w at minimum, so grab a 1000w psu and call it a day, as not only will it deal with power spikes, it will also have head room for other devices.

Yeah at least 850W decent quality, preferably with 12+4-pin connector so you don`t need to use adapter. Something like Corsair RM850e (2023) or Be Quiet Pure Power 12 M,

on top of that, the older models like the S12 and M12 are group regulated and cannot handle the reactivity of sudden high/low power consumption spikes, keep it in your old rig. You want the G-series at least or focus models for sure.

nice, ill have to look up the "e", never seen that.

i have a corsair hx1000i and sold a corsair rm1000 that i only used for like 6 months, before replacing with the hxi version.

edit, hmm "low noise", odd.
