Skyrim world map makes computer shut off
Exactly what my title says, the computer just shuts off. Everything dead then one second after it starts up again... Only when I go into the world map though, sometimes it works when I hit tab then go into the world map but more often it still shuts off the computer the only time it works it seems is when I use Skyrim first and no other video game. My computer would also do the same thing when I played starcraft 2 wings of liberty (rarely) but Titanfall doesnt make it do that and LoL doesnt either. I did Furmark at 1920x1080 for 30 mins it was at 82c and FPS no lower than 52 also Intel burn test and no issue. It is still under warrenty and I bought the computer 2 months ago I just went though so much to get it I do not want to let it go lol (I am also living in Italy and CyberPowerPC are the people I bought it from it would take forever to get back). I can honestly live with not playing Skyrim until I go back to the USA but I dont know if I am doing more harm by playing other games and I am scared to buy something else just to have the issue all over again. Please steam community could I have some insight?

Asus motherboard
Intel i7 4770k 3.5
GeForce GTX 770
600 Watt power
Titan X case
2 TB HDD wesson (I think is name)
Liquid cooling, maxed out fan capacity
Skyrim- Ultra high
SC2 WoL- Highest settings with physics
Titanfall- Highest settings
LoL- Highest settings

skyrim only uses 2 cores
will not max a 4770k
unless there are some cpu intensive background tasks going on
Other than AVG my anti virus there is nothing going on my computer is very clean only a few games, skype and anti virus. Problem occured before AVG was even installed.
Is it shutting down or rebooting? There's a big difference between the two!

Some motherboards have a safety shutdown for overheating pervention. Which sounds like your cause. However, just incase...

Shutting down can also comes down to the checking your PSU.

If it's crashing out, memory (graphic or system) or another hardware issue with one of the components, driver conflict, or bad software, then it will try attempt a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and reboot the system.

Ensure you have installed the 'Microsoft Visual C++' Redistributable Packs successfully, such as...

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
- I believe this is the one required by Skyrim:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

You want to search the offical Microsoft Download Center for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2012.

Install them in order from oldest to newest.
If your using 32 Bit OS, just get the (x86) which is the 32 bit version.
If your using 64 Bit OS, then look for both (x86) and (x64).

Why is this important? Well you only need to do it once, games will come with these bundles and install them itself before your first game. However, if they are corrupted, missing or skipped, some games can crash out or conflict with another version. Newer version should not overwrite older ones, as it depends on your games, older ones still sometimes use previous versions.

Rock up to the offical 'Geforce Experience' software:
http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience

Download the latest GeForce Drivers for your graphics card.
Scan your steam / game folder(s), apply optimal settings to 'Skyrim'.

For the GeForce GTX 770, optimal resolution should be set to 1080p (1920x1080) and you should be able to play those games at high to ultra settings smoothly. That's a beast of a graphics card, but is capped to screen resolution. Don't use higher screen resolutions such as 1440p, bottlenecking can occur, therefore it's not recommended.

Thank you for looking, I have seen and tried all of this as well. My next move is to send it in to cyberpower. Upon taking off my side case to make sure my videocard was seated properly I noticed a broken piece on my case on the beck top right. Thinking a drop during shipment may have messed it up?

The computer seems to just shut down, everything black. Then one second later it starts up as normal. I have the C++ 2005's (normal 2005 then 2005 x64 below it) and the 2010's 64 and 86, 64 then 86 below that.

I eventually quit playing because of a similar thing. Sometimes when I opened the world map the screen would go black, the GPU fans would instantly go to what sounded like 100% and I had to completely cycle power to get back. And I had no mods installed.

Has your issue occured in any other game since?
That sounds hardware, but if you just want to make sure...

Is it the screen just going black and the PC is still on, but just not responding? This is the graphic card drivers or game renderer crashing out - graphic card drivers should however be recovered by the OS.

Also, is it just that game affected? If it's the only game affected, then it's most likely software or drivers - not hardware.

Go to:
(Program Files -> Steam Folder) \steamapps\common\Skyrim\

Under the folder run:
VCRedist -> vcredist_x86.exe

DotNetFX -> dotnetfx35setup.exe

DirectX10 -> DXSETUP.exe

Go to this folder:
C:\users\ YOUR USER NAME \my documents\my games\skyrim\
and delete or rename these two files:
skyrim.ini
skyrimprefs.ini

Then right-click the game under steam and verify game files.

Ensure you have the latest Nvidia Geforce drivers from the site: http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Or via Geforce Experience.

Now restart your game and reset your graphics settings via Geforce Experience or ingame.

To me, it sounds most likely due to the renderer crashing.
This will ensure the files aren't corrupted or conflicting with something.

I think it also happened a few times in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.
So just to recap, my computer has since stopped this issue on its own (wtf?) only after CyberpowerPC told me to send it in... I will keep testing this issue until I deem it is 100% overwith, could there be a reason as to why it stopped all of the sudden? Maybe new card wasnt broken in yet? lol. I know new engines need breaking in and I doubt thats the case but thanks everyone for the help and support. Great community.
i have almost the same setup intel i5 4440, 8Gb Ram, gtx770 Windfocre, no liquid cooling but ive never had that issue ill get the odd windows 8 blue screen crash.... then again my mother board and graphics card are disigned by gigabyte for the Intel proccessor. you could try dowloading the program Open Hardware Moniter and get a readout of your temperature voltages and how much resources are getting used. BF4 is a resource hungry game. id also suggest getting a solid state drive load times are drasticly reduced. Its ideal to have your operating system on a seperate Solid state as well
i would actually say get a bigger psu thats probably your issue i have a 850 watts psu
