Player 2 Xbox One controller not working
Hey guys!

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I can't find an answer anywhere on the Internet.

Basically, I have 2 Xbox One controllers hooked up over the Wireless Adapter. Both of them have the Xbox lights on, both show up under the controller section in Steam and vibrate on test as they should, both show up properly in the device manager and both have the latest drivers and I've even reinstalled them too.

But no matter what, the games I play never pick up the second controller. Tried all combinations with them being connected wirelessly and connected by USB, updated them using the Accessories app and still nothing.

I've been trying to play local versus on Street Fighter V with my girlfriend and it acts as though there's only one controller. I've tried a few indie games too, same problem.

Anyone have an idea of what's going on? Not even Xbox support can help me, they have just ignored me now. Running Windows 10 by the way.

Thanks guys!

you need to configure the games settings to use the first and 2nd controllers

Tried it mainly on Street Fighter but tried a few indie games. Can't find any settings anywhere in-game to assign controllers.

I think SFV detects the controller because when I take the batteries out a notification pops up saying there's no controller for player 2. But nothing happens when I press buttons

face palm. Of course there is no player two until you go to options and designate a controller.

Also your controller if its a Dinput style wont register with the newer SFV which needs Xbox controller api known as Xinput

I said there is nowhere to assign controllers in the options. And also said that it's an Xbox One controller, so it's an Xinput type controller

microsoft xbox controller or a company knock off? if its a legit microsoft product then it merely means the game is not designed to regnoize two Xinput pads comming off a wireless connector.

basically means you need to get a pair of USB joypads instead of wireless otherwise windows or i should say the game cannot differenate between em which is the trouble with wireless controllers and games not built around them.

Best i can say it sounds as if the game is hindering the second from even being noticed thus why your other games arent being noticed they arent designed for said wireless adaptor protocol.

If i plug in two of my F710 logitech wireless pads for example the games will reagonize them as HID 1 and HID 2

They're both official Xbox One controllers using an official wireless adapter. Microsoft say you can use either 4 or 8 controllers, can't remember which, on one adapter so it should work.

Don't really want to start buying more controllers after forking out for these two and the adapter, and plus, I use my pc for gaming on my living room tv so don't want cables everywhere too.

Guess I just have to admit defeat. Seeing as not even Microsoft support can give me an answer.
