Yeah, sounds like he's trying to update bios. If that's the case he should probably save it onto a usb drive and update it that way with q-flash or whatever his board has to update it's bios.

The way I'm reading it, the delete key takes him to that screen, but I don't remember him saying he pressed it AGAIN at the actual screen.
If at that screen, del button does nothing then yeah he should reset bios.

Is it a usb keyboard or ps/2 one? Do you have another keyboard to try?
