Potato gaming! Can my 2GB GT 610 handle CSGO?
Says it all. I know this card is a potato. I don't really do any gaming. But I would like to play CS:GO. I know I will proabably not be able to play it at 1080p. But can I play it at 1600x900/1680x1050 and at what settings?

Specs

Intel Core i5 4460 @3.2GHZ
Gigabyte Z97 D3H
1x8GB HyperX FURY 1600mhz
ASUS GT 610 2GB
Kingston v300NOW 120GB SSD
WD Caviar Blue 1TB
EVGA W1 500W
Corsair Spec 01
Windows 10 HOme 64 bit

Thanks.

cpu is fine

gt 610 isnt any better than the intel hd on the haswell refrehs i5
Probably. CSGO is a more CPU-intensive game. Just crank down all of your settings to low. And perhaps consider upgrading that GPU in the near future.

Yeah I did in fact have a 750 Ti, never used, sold it because of PC problems. I would like to get a new one or a 950, but I don't see the point of spending £100-£150 just to play a game or two.

'750 Ti, never used, sold it because of PC problems' Why would you sell a Gtx 750Ti they are fantastic budget gaming cards. Your Gt 610 is terrible for anything to do with graphics and a Gtx 750Ti blows it away (Big Time).

I know, long story. Basically my PC kept BSODing and crashing and shorting out and I needed the money in case I had to go out and get a laptop replacement.

A graphics card wouldn't cause blue screens or crashes.

Sounds like you either had a faulty GPU when that 750 was present; or just Driver issues.
Not to say that 750 GPU is bad; you just had a bad experience is all.

I know it wasn't the graphics card, its just that that was something I could sell to get money. Think it was just Windows being windows now I've gone ahead and done a clean install of W10....

Graphics cards can cause blue screens and crashes, either through a faulty or overheating card, or drivers.

'80+ frames' No just no. You'll be getting about 20 fps.

I don't have skype but I can tell you, you won't be getting 80+ fps (coming from someone who has done ICT).

80 FPS? Yea maybe @ 1024x768 on Low/Medium visual settings; who wants to do that.

GTX 750 Ti could easily have CSGO running with all settings maxed out, running smooth at 768p res or even a bit higher.

'Yea maybe @ 1024x768 on Low/Medium visual settings' Games are even unplayable at low settings with an i3 using Integrated graphics.

Well already has an i5 + GT 610, so what sense does it make to reference that?

But I would towards GTX 950 2GB, maybe can find on Ebay for a little more than GTX 750 Ti 2GB. As 950 is better suited for say; 1080p, where as GTX 750 is not.
